Does anyone know of a good tutorial for making light burst text effect using Macromedia Fireworks Mx?

I have looked all over the net and the tutorials I have found seem to ask for the use of certain filters that my program doesn't have to complete the project. (such as a noise filter and a blur zoom)

Thanks in advance for any help !Does anyone know of a good tutorial for making light burst text effect using Macromedia Fireworks Mx?
fireworks isn't that strong of a graphics editor, and I think most of the graphics you can create are vector shapes. I could be wrong in this, but either way if you are interested in creating graphics, you should look into a raster graphics editor. Photoshop is standard, but expensive. Gimp is free, but less can be done with it, and it's a little harder to learn. Then again both are really hard to learn, there are just more tutorials for photoshop. Good luck.

And Fireworks was originally used to do quick mock ups and prototypes, not full fledged web design. It just isn't that good.
